Taking a Break

Dear Reader,

As we turn into the new year, I am going to take a break from writing. Not sure for how long – maybe just one week, or maybe longer. Not sure if I will pick up and keep going like I’ve been doing or do something different.  Words that have come to me include “lie fallow,” “take a hiatus,” and “pause to regroup.”  If you have any advice or ideas, let me know at info@drjsb.com.  I am grateful to have this connection with every one of you.

Steve

Totally understand the need for change Steve. The new year is a good time to rethink things that we’ve been doing for a long time. I’ve enjoyed your blog and look forward to any future reflections you might share. Wishing you well on whatever you do .

Thank you so much for the response. It means alot someone in Virginia and a fellow Purgatorio Pilgrim reads what I come up with.

I’m still preaching from time….are you still leading worship in your local parish?

      Happy New Year.

No, Steve, we stepped away from doing the Celtic service after 5 years — there were just 2-3 of us doing everything and we wore out. We moved to a church (still Episcopal) that incorporates a lot of similar things. And they have a growing group of young singles and families that are taking the leadership so oldsters like me can be supporting players. This church is also speaking out against policies coming out of current administration that are hurting the poor and disenfranchised. I am finding that important.

I opted out of doing a John Bugbee class this fall — just too much going on. But he came and stayed here for a few days recently when he had business in Charlottesville. He’s a special person.

Wishing you and your family a new year of peace and joy. Enjoy your grandchildren!

Hi Steve, I will look forward to seeing what you decide. If you do decide to discontinue, I will miss your weekly dose of wisdom, but I can easily imagine you needing to take a break.

I’m getting ready to take a trip back East, to visit my nieces and nephews but hope we can find a date to walk after I get back!

    Happy New Year! Steve
